Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School’s national award-winning visual arts program is a standout feature of the institution, renowned for its innovative curriculum and state-of-the-art resources. The program offers a diverse array of courses that explore an introduction to art and materials, drawing and painting, printmaking techniques, exploration in 3D design, graphic studio and design, digital photography, digital manipulation and rendering, independent art study, and AP Studio Art and Design. With a newly updated design program that includes cutting-edge iMac computers equipped with Adobe software and professional-grade DSLR cameras with studio lighting, students are provided with exceptional tools to hone their craft. The program’s emphasis on field trips to creative and educational locations further enriches students' experiences, allowing them to engage with the art world beyond the classroom. Embracing Post-Modern art theory and a variety of media, students have achieved remarkable success, earning numerous National Scholastic Art Awards and placing within the top 10% of artists nationwide. Many have received prestigious scholarships to leading art schools and have embarked on successful creative careers, reflecting the program’s outstanding impact on their artistic development.
