BIO

Andrew Beeler is a native of Port Huron, Michigan where he was raised and attended
local Catholic schools. In 2007, he began attending Cardinal Mooney Catholic High School.
During his time at Cardinal Mooney, Andrew was a member of the football, soccer, cross
country, basketball teams. He was a member of the 2010 boys basketball state runner-up team.
Following his graduation from Cardinal Mooney in 2010, Andrew accepted an
appointment to the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. While a Midshipman, Andrew
was a member of and eventual Captain of the Varsity Offshore Sailing Team, a Battalion
Commander, and a Company Training Officer. He received his Bachelors of Science in Naval
Architecture and his Naval Commission as an Ensign in the US Navy upon graduation in May of
2014.
Andrew’s first tour of duty was aboard the USS CHANCELLORSVILLE (CG 62)
stationed out of Yokosuka, Japan on which he served as the Main Propulsion Officer and
Combat Information Center Officer. In April 2017, he reported as the Fire Control Officer
onboard USS DECATUR (DDG 73) in San Diego, California. Through two tours, Andrew
completed multiple South and East China Sea deployments and one Arabian Gulf deployment.
Andrew’s military awards include the Navy and Achievement Medal, the Navy Commendation
Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Junior Officer Leadership Award.
After completing his service, Andrew began his master’s studies in public policy at the
University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy. In 2020, he took a leave of absence to
run for his home seat in the Michigan Legislature. After winning, he assumed office in January
2021, and was re-elected to his second term in November 2022. In the Michigan House, Andrew
served as the Vice Caucus Chair, the Assistant Republican Leader, and the House Campaign
Chair. He chose not to seek re-election in the 2024 election cycle in order to focus on his private
sector experience in his local community of Port Huron.
